This is of some Kaimanawa horses, wild horses that roam in the Kaimanawa mountain ranges in the North Island of New Zealand. The beautiful frosty morning reference photo was taken by photographer Kimber Brown
The Kaimanawa horse originated from Exmoor and Welsh Mountain pony stock released in the1870’s in NZ. Unfortunately to control numbers, there is a biannual muster, where they now rehome the majority of these beautiful horses (a vast improvement from previous years).
