Scratchboard (8x8in) - Original SOLD
This beautiful wee bird is found only in the North Island of New Zealand. The robins are so friendly andoften they will come as close as sitting on your shoe! We would like to think it's their curiosity and friendliness but more likely they know we humans stir up the dirt to reveal scrumptious bugs and worms to eat!
The reference photo was taken at Zealandia Eco Park, Karori, Wellington, such a beautiful place to visit if you are in the region. You often see tuis and bellbirds up very close on the honey feeders. This is where I manage to get a lot of my closeup reference photography.
Currently being exhibited at the "Bringing Back the Birds" exhibition, Bowen House, Parliamentary Buildings until October 31st
Open Edition Giclee Prints available
Framed in a beautiful Larsen Juhl Majorca moulding, with a black inner frame to set the artwork off further
