The New Zealand Tui is one of my most favourite songbirds.
The Tui's dawn chorus along with the Bellbird is an incredible thing to experience!
The tui's feathers are such iridescent in colouring, I used Pan Pastel Pearlescent colours to create a little shine off the feathers.

Closeup of the artwork. Anthracite pearlescent pan pastels are used in the background, with pearlescent pastels also used in the feathers of the tui to give that iridescent sheen that tuis have.
