Pastel (60cm framed tondo)
Original SOLD
The South Island Tomtit is a special wee songbird, frequently seen in bush around the South Island, most often seen flitting about remote forest areas. I've only had the privilege of seeing them a small number of times, mostly in Stewart Island and Ulva Island.
The reference photo was taken by Glenda Rees, with kind permission. I very much enjoy following Glenda's photography online.
Open Edition Giclee Prints available
Soft pastels, pan pastels and pastel pencils were used for this artwork, a perfect medium for these colourings to achieve the softness
Framed in a high lacquered white frame, with white matboard. I love that these round tondo frames are a little point of difference for pastel artworks
